Sidrynn was born in the southern deserts of Calimshan. His parents, slaves of a moderately powerful Efreet Otheos, were his most reliable, trustworthy, and well-treated. However, they were still slaves, and were killed in a Thayan attack on the efreet’s compound. Sidrynn’s current mentor, Curuvash the Brazen, was one of the first adventurers to respond to the calls for help; he arrived as the Thayans were rounding up the surviving slaves to take back to their shattered land. In a rare fit of rage, he attacked the Thayans, injuring many and killing a few. He found the young boy in the area of one of his blasts of fire, looking little the worse for wear, and knew that the child had the potential to become a great adventurer; adopting him, he returned to Loudwater with the child.

Since then, Sidrynn has befriended Ignis Flamman III, who is the scion of a Genasi adventuring line, and a blacksmith’s apprentice. Working together, they constructed the body of Van, and enchanted him with Curuvar’s help. The bard Llewellen tags along for fun and glory, and together they plan and execute some of the most elaborate (and relatively harmless) pranks that Loudwater has ever seen – house-painting, plant gathering, laundry switching, and on one occasion, they transported an entire merchant’s stall across town (who has since actually seen an increase in business). Sidrynn listens attentively to the stories of great adventurers, knowing that someday he will leave his own mark on the world, and perhaps see the Thayan power crushed once and for all.
